- "Donny hasn't been the same since...well, you know. He's cold, brutal and ruthless, doesn't take shit from anybody and would kill anyone, alive or dead, if they so much as look at him or one of the group members the wrong way."
Donovan "Donny" Santana is a character first introduced in AMC's The Walking Dead television series as a helpless teenager who looks to his older brother to protect him. He stayed at the camp in Atlanta and helped with the women instead of scavenging, showing that he is immensely afraid of the walkers. He is one of the original survivors from the Atlanta group. After the loss of the Prison and the death of his brother, Donny completely changed; he became a cold, ruthless individual, killing both the undead and the living in order to protect those he loves.
Los Angeles, California
Donny was born in Los Angeles, California to Alexander and Jennifer Santana and was the younger brother of Johnny Santana. He was a good student, though not straight-A material. They moved to Atlanta because Donny's grandmother was sick and his mother wanted to take care of her since his grandfather passed away.
One day Donny came home from school to see his parents and grandmother dead with his brother covered in blood. When a horrified Donny inquired about the situation, Johnny simply pointed to the television screen where a news report was detailing reanimated corpses. He quickly followed his brother's orders and packed his things and tried to get out of the city. When stuck in traffic on the highway, Donny and Johnny met up with the survivors led by Shane Walsh.
