Henry "Hank" Rutherford Hill is the main character and the protagonist first encountered in Issue 1 of the story King of the Dead. Formerly the assistant manager of Strickland Propane prior to the apocalypse, Hank Hill is put into a coma while he is shot at work during an attempted robbery. He awakens weeks later to find he is stuck in a hospital in the middle of the undead apocalypse. The series follows his search for his family and his struggles to survive in the new world ruled by zombies.
Little is known about Hank's life prior to or as the outbreak began, other than that he worked at Strickland Propane as the assistant manager, and he lived in Arlen, Texas, with his wife and son.
